I played a game called Furcadia (an online Role-playing game) back when I bought the lab map pieces and I sold a digo item called a Gryphon (it's a form for your avatar that you can buy with actual money) for 250,000 nps. I bought the lab map pieces for 220k from the trades. Since then, it's only been a waste of neopoints to me. This guide will give you some useful information on each of the treasure maps. The Space Map and Underwater Maps are now way to expensive for you to pull a profit. Also, the Space Map is now a retired item so it's price will continually rise, if you want, you could buy one or two of them to keep in your SDB for a while. They used to be 3,000 - 9,000 a piece. How do you get the secret lab map on Neopets? You have to collect all nine pieces of the Secret Lab Map that are hidden around Neopia. You can only get them through Random Events, from Tarla, or by buying them.

The Secret Laboratory is a special and hidden place in Neopia where you can put your Neopets under a special Ray. This Ray will change your Pet, either for the better or for the worse. It can do such evils as blowing up your stats, or to charming things such as turning your Pet Maraquan.

So..how do I get to it then?!

You have to collect all nine pieces of the Secret Lab Map that are hidden around Neopia. You can only get them through Random Events, from Tarla, or by buying them.

Pieces #2, #3, #4, #6, #7, #8 and #9 can usually be found in Shops as they normally sell for under 100,000 Neopoints. The 2 other pieces are considerated 'unbuyable', which means that you will only be able to purchase them from the Trading Post or from Auctions. Map pieces are ranging from 10,000 Neopoints to close to 1,000,000 Neopoints due to the skyrocketing price of the first piece. It is also possible to buy a full set from the Trading Post for around 790,000 Neopoints, with the exception of the first piece. It's very expensive!

Once you have all of the pieces of the Lab Map - and have forked out a LOT of cash, you need to go here with all of the pieces in your inventory. If you have them all, they will show up, and you will be granted access to the Special Laboratory for life! You will also be rewarded with some Neopoints, but unfortunately it's nothing compared to the amount you just spent for your new favorite daily!

What can the Lab Ray actually DO?

The Lab Ray can:

• Lose Pet's Levels

• Lose Pet's Defense
• Back to Level 1 for your Pet
• Gain Levels for your Pet
• Gain Pet's Movement
• Gain Pet's Defense
• Gain Pet's Hit Points
• Gain Pet's Strength
• Change Pets Color
• Species Change for your pet
• Gender Change for your pet
• Species + Colour Change for your pet
• Have no Effect at all on your Pet

You may only zap a pet once per day, and only one pet. But beware that something disastrous could happen, do don't go and get access without thinking on the consequences!

Oooh...it changes my pets COLOR?

Yep it certainly does! You may no longer have to buy a paintbrush! Your Pet can change into a color that you might never be able to afford otherwise - Relic, Zombie, Faerie, Desert, and more! But a downside is that your pet cannot be painted Royal, Usuki, Quiguki, Plushie, Baby, or Pirate.

And there are also a load of exclusive colors - ones that only the Lab Ray can paint your pet, and that you cannot get a paintbrush for! These are: 8-Bit, Alien, Chocolate, Clay, Coconut, Garlic, Ice, Jelly, Marshmallow, MSP, Robot, Snot, Sponge

Finally, yes, there is! You can get the avatar below if one of your pets gets a Species Change.

Neopets Forgotten Shore is located in Krawk Island. It is obtainable through nine map pieces. Once you have them, go to treasure to successfully assemble them and then you will be able to participate. Neopets Forgotten Shore is totally free and will grant you, 50% of the time, a burried treasure or NP.

You can access it by going to Krawk Island and clicking on it at the top left of the map once you assemble it. If you have found a treasure, clicking anywhere on the map will add it to your inventory and it will show you its picture on the bottom of the screen. Sometimes the shore will say something like “there is nothing to be found today” which means you were unlucky for that day. You will also be able to earn 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 NP from the shore. You will only be able to hunt for treasure in the shore once per day.
